Hey all. In my opinion, there should be an option to edit the board topics you created, because you could correct some mistakes then. For example, in my story builder, I would really like to change that instead of "unique lil# Ines", there should be my new name in in brackets on the beginning.

well, can't you just edit it as you are making the topic?

i know this has been bort up before

I know I'm personally against it, for continuity reasons.

I have got in idea but i don't know how good it is. Maybe people can edit their topics if they don't have any replies in them but as soon as somebody reply this feature will stop working. So in this way continuity won't be affected. What do you think?

Good idea and Nikos I like the sound of that.

Daniel, do you always see your mistakes immediately? Like, for example, in livejournal, you can edit your entries. So I thought it could be possible here as well.

Yeah, that would be a good idea. That wouldbe at least acompromise. Lol

Difference in Livejournal is it's your site, so you can edit your own journal. Just like you can edit your own profile here as much as you want. The board topics are public. The suggestion above is interesting, though. I can see it now. You spend a bunch of time editing your prized post, hit submit, and someone got in a reply 2 seconds earlier so all of your hard work is rejected. Hmmmmm.

I don't know why people can't just proofread before posting, that's what I usually do, it's not that difficult.

Well some people use HTML in their postings on the boards so keep that in mind. I personally think there should be a preview button to look over it to see if you misspelled a word or fucked up on an HTML code somewhere before you actually click the submit button.

I am against coming in as you please to change up the writing all the time though. Sorry Ines. I do however understand that opinions and thoughts on different things change after awhile but just write in the same board post as your mind changes about something. There's nothing wrong with that, but give that preview button some thought though. That'd be real helpful in the long run in my opinion.

The first poster didn't mention a proofreading issue, it was about changing content.

I am against editing posts because, as the admin says, there is a continuity problem with it.

I do like the proof possibility though. I also think that a poster should be able to withdraw a post until the first reply is given, so if someone comes out with a topic that is on a different board, cross postings will not be a problem.

Now, all we need is automatic spell checking. But, I've always needed that.
